Problem

During its vertical motion, the displacement ss (in metres) of a ball thrown upward from the ground is given by the expression s=15t−5t2,s = 15t - 5t^{2}, where tt is the time in seconds measured from the instant of projection. (i) State the initial velocity of projection and the magnitude of the acceleration acting on the ball. (ii) At what time does the ball reach its maximum height? Show your working. (iii) Calculate the maximum height reached by the ball.
