Problem

A rectangular jogging track in a park has its four corners at the points F(2,3)F(2,3), G(2,−2)G(2,-2), H(−3,−2)H(-3,-2) and I(−3,3)I(-3,3) on the coordinate plane. (i) Plot the points F,G,HF, G, H and II on a neat coordinate plane and join them in order to show the track. (ii) Name the geometric figure formed by joining the four points. (iii) State the quadrant in which each vertex of the rectangle lies. (iv) A water-cooler is to be placed exactly at the midpoint of side FGFG. Without using any algebraic formula, write the coordinates of this midpoint and explain how you arrived at them.
