Problem

A particle undergoes a displacement s⃗=3i^+4j^ m\vec s = 3\hat i + 4\hat j\,\text{m} while three constant forces act on it: F⃗1=2i^+j^ N\vec F_1 = 2\hat i + \hat j\,\text{N}, F⃗2=−i^+3j^ N\vec F_2 = -\hat i + 3\hat j\,\text{N} and F⃗3=4i^−5j^ N\vec F_3 = 4\hat i - 5\hat j\,\text{N}. (i) Determine the resultant force acting on the particle. (ii) Calculate the work done by the resultant force during the displacement. (iii) Calculate the work done by each individual force and verify that their sum equals the value obtained in part (ii).
