Problem

Matrices P,  QP,\;Q and RR are of orders 3×2,  2×53\times 2,\;2\times 5 and 3×33\times 3 respectively. (i) State the condition under which the product of two matrices is defined. (ii) For each ordered pair (P,Q),  (Q,P),  (P,R),  (R,P),  (Q,R)\bigl(P,Q\bigr),\;\bigl(Q,P\bigr),\;\bigl(P,R\bigr),\;\bigl(R,P\bigr),\;\bigl(Q,R\bigr) and (R,Q)\bigl(R,Q\bigr), determine whether the product in the order written is defined. Give a brief justification in each case. (iii) Wherever the product is defined in part (ii), write the order of the resulting matrix.
