Problem

A cyclist travels along a circular track of radius 40 m40\,\text{m}. During a short sprint the cyclist covers 25.1 m25.1\,\text{m} along the circumference. Answer the following: (i) Calculate the angular displacement (in radian) of the cyclist relative to the centre of the track. (ii) Express the angular displacement obtained in part (i) in degrees, correct to one decimal place. (iii) Assuming the cyclist’s speed along the path was 12.0 m s−112.0\,\text{m s}^{-1}, determine the average angular speed in radian per second for this sprint.
