Problem

Two small lead spheres of masses 0.20 kg0.20\,\text{kg} and 0.50 kg0.50\,\text{kg} are placed 0.50 m0.50\,\text{m} apart on a perfectly smooth horizontal table. Take G=6.67×10−11 N m2 ⁣/kg2G = 6.67\times10^{-11}\,\text{N m}^2\!\text{/kg}^2. (i) Calculate the magnitude of the gravitational force acting between the two spheres. (ii) If the spheres are released from rest, determine the initial acceleration of each sphere. State clearly the direction of motion of each sphere.
