Problem

Two point charges are fixed on the xx-axis: +4 μC+4\,\mu\text{C} at x=0 mx = 0\,\text{m} and −3 μC-3\,\mu\text{C} at x=0.30 mx = 0.30\,\text{m}. Point PP lies on the axis at x=0.20 mx = 0.20\,\text{m}. (a) Find the magnitude and direction of the net electric field at PP due to the two fixed charges. (b) Hence calculate the magnitude and direction of the force that would act on a +2 μC+2\,\mu\text{C} test charge placed at PP.
