Problem
A network has two parallel paths between points A and C. Along the first path, a 120 Ω resistor AB is in series with a 240 Ω resistor BC. Along the second path, a 60 Ω resistor AD is in series with a 120 Ω resistor DC. The mid-points B and D are joined by a 50 Ω resistor. A 20 V source is connected between A (positive) and C (negative). Calculate the current through the 50 Ω resistor and state its direction (from B to D or D to B).
