Problem

A solid aluminum ball and a hollow aluminum shell have identical outer radii. When each is released from rest while fully submerged in water at 20 °C, they experience the same upward force from the water even though their masses are different. In one or two sentences, explain why the magnitudes of these upward forces are identical.
