Problem

From the external point A(2,3)A(2,3), tangents are drawn to the curve y=x2y = x^2. Let the points of contact be PP and QQ. (i) Show that the xx-coordinates of PP and QQ satisfy a quadratic equation and write this equation explicitly. (ii) Find the coordinates of PP and QQ. (iii) Determine the equations of the tangents APAP and AQAQ. (iv) Write the equations of the normals to the curve at PP and QQ."
