Problem

Let the quadratic polynomial be r(x)=6x2−13x+6r(x)=6x^{2}-13x+6. (i) Factorise r(x)r(x) and hence find its zeros α\alpha and β\beta. (ii) Verify by direct substitution that each zero satisfies r(x)=0r(x)=0. (iii) Form a new quadratic polynomial whose zeros are α2\alpha^{2} and β2\beta^{2}, and express it in standard form Ax2+Bx+CAx^{2}+Bx+C with integer coefficients.
