Problem
A school roof is L-shaped, composed of two adjoining rectangles. The larger rectangle measures 30 m by 18 m and the smaller one, attached along its width, measures 15 m by 12 m. During a shower, rain falls uniformly to a depth of 12 cm over the entire roof. The collected rainwater is stored in cylindrical tanks, each having an internal radius of 2.5 m and a height of 4 m.
(i) Calculate the total volume of rainwater that falls on the roof, expressing your answer in litres.
(ii) Determine the capacity of one storage tank in litres.
(iii) How many such tanks can be completely filled with the collected rainwater?
(iv) If any water remains after filling the tanks, find its volume in litres.
