Problem

At a school fête, three kinds of coupons—A, B and C—are sold at prices of Rs 50, Rs 30 and Rs 20 respectively. In a single day, a total of 100 coupons are sold and the total sales amount to Rs 3600. The number of B coupons sold is twice the number of C coupons sold. (i) Taking the numbers of coupons of types A, B and C sold to be xx, yy and zz respectively, frame a system of three linear equations that models the given information. (ii) Solve the system to find how many coupons of each type were sold. (iii) Interpret your result in the context of the fête.
