Problem

Let f(x)=x+1x−1,g(x)=1x2−4,f(x)=\dfrac{x+1}{x-1},\qquad g(x)=\dfrac{1}{x^{2}-4}, with their natural domains in R\mathbb R. (i) Determine a simplified algebraic expression for the composite (g∘f)(x)(g\circ f)(x). (ii) Find all real numbers aa for which (g∘f)(a)(g\circ f)(a) is not defined. Give clear justification for every value obtained. (iii) Evaluate (g∘f)(0)(g\circ f)(0) and (g∘f)(3)(g\circ f)(3), stating whether each value is finite, zero, or undefined.
