Two identical refrigerators are connected to the mains supply. In both, the live conductor breaks and touches the metal case.
(i) Refrigerator A is properly earthed and fused. Describe the sequence of events that follow the fault.
(ii) Refrigerator B has no earth connection but the same fuse. State what a person touching its case could experience and why.
(iii) Which refrigerator is safer? Justify your answer.
