Problem

A resistance of 30 Ω30\,\Omega, an inductance of 0.12 H0.12\,\text{H} and a capacitance of 100 μF100\,\mu\text{F} are connected in series to a 220 V220\,\text{V} (rms) ac source whose frequency can be varied. (i) Calculate the frequency at which the circuit draws maximum rms current. (ii) For the frequency obtained in part (i), compute the magnitude of the rms current. (iii) At this frequency, what is the value of the phase angle and what does it signify about the nature of the circuit?
