Problem

Let p(x)=kx2+(k−3)x+3p(x)=k x^{2}+(k-3)x+3, where kk is a real constant. (i) If x=1x=1 is a zero of p(x)p(x), find the value of kk. (ii) Using the value of kk obtained in part (i), find the remainder when p(x)p(x) is divided by (x+2)(x+2). (iii) For the same value of kk, verify whether x=−2x=-2 is a zero of p(x)p(x).
