Problem

In a mixture of H−He+\mathrm{H-He^+} gas, where He+\mathrm{He^+} is a singly ionised helium atom, H atoms and He+\mathrm{He^+} ions are excited to their respective first excited states. Subsequently, H atoms transfer their total excitation energy to He+\mathrm{He^+} ions by collisions. Assume that the Bohr model of the atom is exactly valid. The ratio of the kinetic energy of the n=2n=2 electron of the H atom to that of the excited He+\mathrm{He^+} ion is (1) 14\frac14 (2) 12\frac12 (3) 11 (4) 22
