Problem

Let q(x)=35x−910q(x)=\dfrac{3}{5}x-\dfrac{9}{10}. (i) Find the zero of q(x)q(x). (ii) The polynomial r(x)=35x−cr(x)=\dfrac{3}{5}x-c has the same zero as q(x)q(x). Determine the value of the constant cc. (iii) Construct a new linear polynomial s(x)s(x) whose zero is twice that of q(x)q(x) and whose coefficient of xx is −4-4. Write s(x)s(x) in standard form.
