Problem

A small sphere of mass 0.35 kg0.35\,\text{kg} is attached to a light, inextensible string of length 1.20 m1.20\,\text{m} and set into uniform circular motion such that the string sweeps out a cone while maintaining a constant angle of 25∘25^{\circ} with the vertical. Air resistance is negligible. (a) Determine the speed of the sphere as it moves in its horizontal circle. (b) Calculate the period of the motion. (c) Find the tension in the string during the motion.
