The average distance between the centres of the Earth and the Moon is 3.84×105 km3.84\times10^{5}\,\text{km}. The mass of the Earth is 6.0×1024 kg6.0\times10^{24}\,\text{kg} and that of the Moon is 7.4×1022 kg7.4\times10^{22}\,\text{kg}. (i) Convert the given distance into metres. (ii) Calculate the magnitude of the gravitational force between the Earth and the Moon. Express your answer in scientific notation correct to three significant figures. (iii) Along which line does this gravitational force act on each body? State your answer briefly.
