Problem

A particle of mass 2 kg2\,\text{kg} is simultaneously subjected to two constant forces F1=3i+4j−2k N\mathbf{F}_1 = 3\mathbf{i} + 4\mathbf{j} - 2\mathbf{k}\,\text{N} and F2=−i+6j+2k N\mathbf{F}_2 = -\mathbf{i} + 6\mathbf{j} + 2\mathbf{k}\,\text{N}. During a certain interval the particle undergoes a displacement s=2i−j+3k m\mathbf{s} = 2\mathbf{i} - \mathbf{j} + 3\mathbf{k}\,\text{m}. Its speed at the start of the displacement is 5 m s−15\,\text{m s}^{-1}. (i) Calculate the work done by each of the two forces during the displacement. (ii) Determine the net work done on the particle. (iii) Find the speed of the particle at the end of the displacement.
