Let us define the length of a vector ai^+bj^+ck^a\hat{i} + b\hat{j} + c\hat{k} as ∣a∣+∣b∣+∣c∣|a| + |b| + |c|. This definition coincides with the usual definition of length of a vector ai^+bj^+ck^a\hat{i} + b\hat{j} + c\hat{k} if and only if (1) a=b=c=0a = b = c = 0 (2) any two of a,ba, b and cc are zero (3) any one of a,ba, b and cc is zero (4) a+b+c=0a + b + c = 0
