Problem

A merry-go-round starts from rest and rotates about a vertical axis with a constant angular acceleration of 0.25 rad s−20.25\,\text{rad s}^{-2}. (i) Derive a general expression for the time tnt_{n} required to complete the nn-th full revolution (i.e. the interval between starting from rest and the moment the angle turned first equals 2πn2\pi n). (ii) Using your expression, calculate the time taken to complete the fifth full revolution. (iii) Find the angular speed of the merry-go-round at the instant it finishes the fifth revolution.
