Problem

Answer the following in detail: (a) Define (a) a terminating decimal expansion and (b) a non-terminating recurring decimal expansion. (b) For a rational number written in its lowest form as pq\frac{p}{q}, where p,q∈Zp,q\in\mathbb Z and q≠0q\ne0, state the condition on the prime factorisation of qq that decides whether the decimal expansion of the number terminates. (c) Give two distinct examples of rational numbers whose decimal expansions terminate and two distinct examples whose decimal expansions are non-terminating recurring. Write each rational number only in fractional form.
