Problem

In a series RLC circuit a resistor of resistance 25 Ω and a capacitor of capacitance 0.040 μF are connected to an a.c. source of variable frequency. The supply voltage has a constant value of 10 V r.m.s. The current in the circuit reaches its maximum value at a frequency of 4.0 kHz. (i) Determine the inductance of the inductor in the circuit. (ii) Calculate the peak value of the current at resonance. (iii) What is the impedance of the circuit at resonance? Comment briefly on your answer.
