Problem

The distribution of daily rainfall (in mm) recorded on 100 days of a monsoon season is represented by a histogram whose class intervals and rectangle heights (frequency densities) are given below: 0–5 mm: 2.0, 5–15 mm: 2.0, 15–20 mm: 3.0, 20–30 mm: 2.5, 30–50 mm: 1.5. Answer the following questions. (i) Complete a grouped frequency distribution table for the data. (ii) How many days had rainfall of at least 5 mm but less than 30 mm? (iii) Estimate the mean daily rainfall for the 100-day period.
