Problem

Two wires, A and B, are tested separately. For wire A the following data were obtained:
VV (V)II (A)
1.50.050
3.00.100
4.50.150
6.00.200
For wire B the observations were:
VV (V)II (A)
1.50.042
3.00.080
4.50.112
6.00.138
(a) Plot II–VV graphs for wires A and B on the same pair of axes. (b) From each graph determine the resistance of wire A and of wire B. (c) State, giving a reason from the appearance of the graphs, which wire follows Ohm’s law more closely. (d) The two wires are now connected in parallel across a source of 9 V9\,\text{V}. Using your answers from part (b), calculate the total current drawn from the source.
