Problem

In a circuit two junctions, J1J_1 and J2J_2, are connected by a single conductor carrying current I3I_3. At J1J_1 a 5.0 A5.0\,\text{A} current enters from the battery, and 1.4 A1.4\,\text{A} leaves downward through a resistor. The remaining current travels toward J2J_2 as I3I_3. At J2J_2, the current I3I_3 arrives from the left and splits: 2.6 A2.6\,\text{A} leaves upward through one resistor, and 1.0 A1.0\,\text{A} leaves downward through another. Determine the magnitude and direction of I3I_3.
