Problem

Consider the trigonometric function y=sec⁡xy = \operatorname{sec} x. (i) State the set of all real numbers for which the function is not defined. (ii) Give a reason, based on the relationship between sec⁡x\operatorname{sec} x and cos⁡x\cos x, why vertical asymptotes occur at those points. (iii) Determine whether y=sec⁡xy = \operatorname{sec} x is an even function, odd function, or neither, and justify your answer.
