Problem

A 0.60 kg0.60\,\text{kg} block moves on a frictionless track. At point A it is 0.30 m0.30\,\text{m} above the chosen reference level and has a speed of 2.5 m s−12.5\,\text{m}\,s^{-1}. The block then moves to point B, which is 0.10 m0.10\,\text{m} below the reference level, where it compresses a horizontal spring by 0.12 m0.12\,\text{m} and momentarily stops. Determine the force constant of the spring.
