Problem

To keep an oscillator within ±5%\pm5\% of its 100 kHz100\,\text{kHz} design frequency under worst-case conditions, the reactive elements must be sized carefully. The inductance available is 50 μH  ±2%50\,\mu\text{H}\;\pm2\%. Assuming the capacitor is the only other reactive element, the largest permissible percentage tolerance on the capacitor that will still meet the frequency specification (additive errors considered) is (a) 6%6\% (b) 10%10\% (c) 8%8\% (d) 4%4\%
