Problem

In a laboratory experiment, a series LCR circuit is assembled with a capacitance of 250 pF250\,\text{pF} and an inductance of 180 μH180\,\mu\text{H}. (i) Calculate the resonant frequency of the circuit in kilohertz. (ii) A local transmitter operates at 1000 kHz1000\,\text{kHz}. State, with brief reasoning, whether the circuit in its present form can be tuned exactly to that station. (iii) If exact tuning is not possible, should the capacitance be increased or decreased to achieve resonance at 1000 kHz1000\,\text{kHz}? Justify without numerical calculation.
