Problem

A boy pulls a sled along a straight, level path using a rope that always exerts a constant tension of 40 N40\,\text{N}. (i) The boy first pulls the sled forward for 15 m15\,\text{m} with the rope making an angle of 30∘30^{\circ} with the direction of motion. Calculate the work done in this part of the trip. (ii) He then pulls the sled back along the same line for 6 m6\,\text{m} while the rope now makes an angle of 120∘120^{\circ} with the direction of motion. Calculate the work done in this second part. (iii) Find the total work done by the boy on the sled for the entire out-and-back motion.
