Problem

In triangle ABCABC, ∠B=90∘\angle B = 90^{\circ}, AB=5 cmAB = 5\,\text{cm}, BC=12 cmBC = 12\,\text{cm} and AC=13 cmAC = 13\,\text{cm}. Taking ∠C\angle C as the reference angle, answer the following: (i) Identify the hypotenuse, the side opposite to ∠C\angle C, and the side adjacent to ∠C\angle C. (ii) Using the given side lengths, write the exact values of sin⁡C\sin C, cos⁡C\cos C and tan⁡C\tan C. (iii) Without carrying out any further calculation, explain why the value of cos⁡C\cos C must lie strictly between 00 and 11 for this triangle.
