Problem

(i) State Ohm’s law for an ohmic conductor at constant temperature. (ii) A carbon resistor of resistance 470 Ω470\,\Omega is connected across a 9 V9\,\text V battery of negligible internal resistance. Calculate the current that flows through the resistor. (iii) The 470 Ω470\,\Omega resistor is replaced by a 100 Ω100\,\Omega resistor while the same battery is used. Determine the new current and find the percentage increase in current compared to part (ii).
