Problem

A hydrogen atom initially in the n=5n=5 state drops directly to the n=2n=2 state. The energies of these two levels are −0.54 eV-0.54\text{ eV} (for n=5n=5) and −3.40 eV-3.40\text{ eV} (for n=2n=2). Calculate the wavelength of the photon that is emitted. Give your answer in nanometres.
