Problem

A ball is projected from ground level and returns to the same level after 6 s6\,\text{s}, having travelled 120 m120\,\text{m} horizontally during the flight. Using g=9.8 m s−2g = 9.8\,\text{m s}^{-2}, answer in sequence: (a) Calculate the initial speed v0v_0 and the angle of projection θ0\theta_0 (each correct to two significant figures). (b) Determine the maximum height reached by the ball. (c) Keeping the same initial speed found in part (a), find the other possible angle of projection that would give the same horizontal range. Hence compute the corresponding maximum height and compare it with the value obtained in part (b).
