Problem

The boiling point of water and HCl are 100∘C100^\circ\text{C} and 86∘C86^\circ\text{C} respectively. An azeotropic mixture boils at about 120∘C120^\circ\text{C}. Fractional distillation of this solution will give : (1) Pure HCl first at 86∘C86^\circ\text{C} (2) Pure H2O\text{H}_2\text{O} then at 100∘C100^\circ\text{C} (3) A mixture of HCl and H2O\text{H}_2\text{O} in the ratio 373359\frac{373}{359} (4) A mixture of HCl in the ratio in which they are present in mixture
