Problem

In △ABC\triangle ABC, points DD, EE and FF are the mid–points of sides ABAB, ACAC and BCBC respectively. The lengths of the sides of the triangle are AB=14 cmAB=14\text{ cm}, AC=10 cmAC=10\text{ cm} and BC=18 cmBC=18\text{ cm}. (i) Find the lengths ADAD and AEAE. (ii) Using the information that DD, EE and FF are mid-points, state the pairs of parallel line segments among ADAD, AEAE, DFDF and FEFE. (iii) Identify the nature of the quadrilateral ADFEADFE and give one reason for your answer. (iv) Determine the perimeter of quadrilateral ADFEADFE.
