Problem

Current II enters junction PP and splits into two branch currents I1I_1 (downward) and I2I_2 (to the right). These two currents later arrive at junction QQ. An additional current I3I_3 enters junction QQ from above, and the combined current leaves QQ to the right as I4I_4. No charge accumulates anywhere in the circuit. Which set of equations is required for the currents to satisfy conservation of charge at both junctions? (a) At PP: I=I1+I2I = I_1 + I_2 At QQ: I1+I2=I4I_1 + I_2 = I_4 (b) At PP: I=I1+I2I = I_1 + I_2 At QQ: I1+I2+I3=I4I_1 + I_2 + I_3 = I_4 (c) At PP: I1=I+I2I_1 = I + I_2 At QQ: I1+I2=I3+I4I_1 + I_2 = I_3 + I_4 (d) At PP: I=I1−I2I = I_1 - I_2 At QQ: I1−I2+I3=I4I_1 - I_2 + I_3 = I_4
