Problem

The path of a particle is described by x=tet,y=et,t∈R.x=te^{t},\qquad y=e^{t},\qquad t\in\mathbb R. (i) Obtain dydx\dfrac{dy}{dx} in terms of tt. (ii) Determine the value(s) of tt for which the tangent to the curve is (a) horizontal and (b) vertical. (iii) Eliminate tt to express dydx\dfrac{dy}{dx} solely in terms of xx and yy.
