Problem

A drone flies from its base station PP to point QQ with displacement vector a=5i^+4j^+2k^\mathbf{a}=5\hat{i}+4\hat{j}+2\hat{k} km. It then flies from QQ to point RR with displacement vector b=−3i^+6j^−k^\mathbf{b}=-3\hat{i}+6\hat{j}-\hat{k} km. (i) Find the vector c\mathbf{c} representing the direct displacement from PP to RR. Express your answer in component form. (ii) Calculate the scalar product a⋅c\mathbf{a}\cdot\mathbf{c}. (iii) Hence determine, correct to the nearest degree, the angle between a\mathbf{a} and c\mathbf{c}.
