Problem

A solid uniform disk of mass 4m4m and radius RR spins at angular speed ω\omega. A small mass mm is glued to the rim, and an identical mass mm is glued halfway to the center (at radius R/2R/2). All parts rotate together with the disk. Rank the three components (disk, mass on rim, mass at R/2R/2) according to the magnitude of their individual angular momenta about the disk’s center, from greatest to least. (a) Mass on rim >> disk >> mass at R/2R/2 (b) Mass on rim >> mass at R/2R/2 >> disk (c) Disk >> mass on rim >> mass at R/2R/2 (d) Disk >> mass at R/2R/2 >> mass on rim
