Problem

An object is dropped from the top of a cliff. The distance it has travelled when it has speed SS is D(S)=S219.6D(S) = \frac{S^2}{19.6} metres. Its speed after tt seconds is given by S(t)=9.8tS(t) = 9.8t m s-1. (1) Find the composite function D∘SD \circ S , and explain what it means. (2) Find and interpret (D∘S)(5)(D \circ S)(5) .
