Problem

Two linear equations are given below: Equation (A): 3x+4=193x+4=19 Equation (B): 5x−6=295x-6=29 Three candidate values are proposed: x=3,  x=4,  x=5x=3,\;x=4,\;x=5. (i) For each candidate value, calculate the LHS and RHS of Equation (A) and state whether the equation is satisfied. (ii) For each candidate value, calculate the LHS and RHS of Equation (B) and state whether the equation is satisfied. (iii) Identify the value (if any) that satisfies both equations simultaneously, giving full justification based on your calculations. (iv) Explain why no other value from the given list can be a common solution of the two equations.
