Problem

Consider the quartic polynomial p(x)=x4−5x2+4p(x)=x^4-5x^2+4. (i) Express p(x)p(x) as a product of two quadratic factors with real coefficients. (ii) Further factor each quadratic factor, if possible, to obtain all real zeros of p(x)p(x). (iii) List the corresponding xx-intercepts of the graph of y=p(x)y=p(x).
