Problem

A filament lamp was tested and the following readings were obtained at room temperature:
VV (V)0.51.01.52.02.53.03.54.0
II (A)0.020.040.060.080.090.100.100.10
Use the above data to answer the following: (i) Plot a graph of potential difference VV on the yy-axis against current II on the xx-axis. (ii) Determine the resistance of the lamp at 1.5 V1.5\,\text{V} from the graph. (iii) Identify the region of the graph where the lamp does not obey Ohm’s law and state whether the lamp is ohmic in that region. (iv) Using the resistance found in part (ii), calculate the power dissipated in the lamp when the potential difference is 2.0 V2.0\,\text{V} (assume the resistance remains the same for this calculation).
