Problem

Lines pp and qq are parallel. Two distinct transversals rr and ss intersect pp at PP and RR respectively, and intersect qq at QQ and SS respectively. The transversals meet each other at point OO situated between pp and qq. At point PP the interior angle between pp and rr is (2x+5)∘(2x + 5)^{\circ}, while at point QQ the corresponding exterior angle between qq and rr is 113∘113^{\circ}. At point RR the exterior angle between pp and ss is (3y−7)∘(3y - 7)^{\circ}, and at point SS the interior angle on the same side of ss is 149∘149^{\circ}. (a) Find the value of xx. (b) Using the obtained value of xx, determine the value of yy. (c) Hence calculate the acute angle between the two transversals rr and ss. Explain every step of your working.
