Problem
For the numbers 252 and 360, answer the following:
(i) State the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic.
(ii) Obtain the prime factorisation of 252 and 360.
(iii) Using the factorizations, find their HCF and LCM.
(iv) Verify that the product of the HCF and the LCM is equal to the product of the two numbers.
(v) Give a brief reason why the equality obtained in part (iv) holds for any two positive integers.
